Barnsley: nearly 4000 people in 6 weeks came to see the show at its seventh stop.

Visitors of all ages and backgrounds (and a sizeable contingent visiting from Sheffield) made it to Barnsley Civic, right in the centre of this busy and quirky town. Considerable press coverage (including BBC TV and radio), a personal appearance by two of  the Visible Girls themselves, plus a visit from local fashionista icon, Rita Britton made this South Yorkshire stop a truly memorable one.

Barnsley was also our biggest exhibition space of the tour so far; the gallery dimensions really adding impact to the show, with room for our video installations and large graphic text boards.

Our gratitude to the folks of this characterful and deeply welcoming, down-to-earth town - its history of political activism and non-conformism another ideal stop for the Visible Girls: Revisited project.
